Budget Fleet 100% Smoke Free

We are constantly looking for ways to make renting a more enjoyable and satisfying experience and in line with that we've taken the initiative and made our entire fleet 100% smoke free. We've listened to our customers and from their feedback we know this has been a lingering problem.

The Budget Smoke Free policy is effective from April 1, 2011 and covers our entire fleet of vehicles. Every make. Every model. And a sticker will be placed on every vehicle to identify it as smoke-free.

We know tobacco smoke leaves a residue on fabrics, fibres and the surfaces of our vehicles, which emits odours many people find unpleasant. And this change to our fleet policy will provide an enhanced customer rental experience - a top priority at Budget.

We're excited about this change because it means a fresh, clean, odour-free vehicle every time you rent. In fact, there is a new inspection process and cleaning fee (up to $250 + GST if the vehicle is returned and it smells of smoke) just to guarantee that all our vehicles really are clean and smoke free.

With our new policy, we encourage customers to refrain from smoking in or near our vehicles at all times.
