How to book and hire a vehicle

Bookings

Simply phone 0800 58 58 58 or visit any Budget office to get an instant cost estimate or make a booking for your vehicle hire.

Payment

Payment may be made by Budget credit card, major international credit cards, cheque for the estimate cost of the hire plus a minimum NZ $250 bond, at the commencement of the hire. A deposit of NZ $100 is required at the time of booking (both payable by credit card).

Vehicle Availability

Budget offers trucks and vans throughout New Zealand. Please note that there may be a charge for re-locating vehicles to some locations. All vehicle bookings are subject to availability.

Your Driver's Licence

When you hire a vehicle, you need to show your current full driver's licence. Please note that you must have the necessary category for the vehicle you're hiring.

Insurance

Comprehensive insurance, subject to an excess, is included in your vehicle hire rate. Please check the insurance conditions when making your reservation.

Fuel

Your vehicle is supplied with a full tank of either petrol or diesel (depending on the model) and is refilled at the renter's expense at the conclusion of the hire.
