Cardrona Alpine Resort

Cardrona Alpine Resort is a relaxed and friendly ski and snowboard resort located between Wanaka and Queenstown, New Zealand.

Anyone and everyone is welcome at Cardrona. Friends, families, those living nearby, those from faraway, skiers, snowboarders, teenagers, kids and senior citizens. We have specialist slopes for beginners, wide open groomed slopes for intermediates, chutes for the advanced and an extensive park for freestylers.

Cardrona is scheduled to open from 24 June to 2 October 2011.

What's new at Cardrona?

Cardrona Alpine Resort has installed a fourth chairlift in phase one of an expansion project which will increase the resort's boundaries and the number of intermediate and advanced runs on offer. This means that Cardrona will now have more chairlifts than any other South Island mountain.

The Valley View quad will extend the resort's terrain from the bottom of the Whitestar lift down to the Speed Straight section of the access road. The former Captains Quad lift's new position will mean Cardrona's lift-serviced vertical will increase by 250 metres and the ski area will grow to a total size of 355 hectares. An additional car park will be built for season pass holders for easy and quick access on to the lift, when in operation.

The new Valley View Quad will increase Cardrona's lift-serviced vertical to a total of 600 metres which will enable the resort to build a FIS homologated downhill course named "Goldrush". As part of this development a 40 metre tunnel is being installed to allow uninterrupted access from the Captains Express to the bottom of the Whitestar Express.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Sub-Compact (Group A) and Full Size (Group E) cars cannot be fitted with ski racks, board racks, or snow chains and are unsuitable to book as ski cars.

PRICING:
Snow Chains, Ski Racks, & Board Racks can be rented individually for $12.50 + GST per day, up to a maximum of $90.00 + GST per rental. You can also rent a combination of racks & chains for $20.00 + GST per day up to a maximum of $160 + GST per rental.
