Effective 17 March 2020, Budget Rent a Car and Truck New Zealand will no longer accept Diners Club International credit cards for reservations or rentals. This is regardless of where the Diners Club card was issued from.
What does this mean?
Reservations that are made from or after the 17 March 2020, Budget Rent a Car and Truck New Zealand are unable to accept any Diners Club cards for payment. We still do accept, Visa, MasterCard and American Express Credit and Debit cards.
Are you a Fastbreak member?
If you have a Fastbreak account with Budget and have pre-filled your payment details with a Diners Club card, please update this as soon as possible before the 17 March. You can change out your preferred method of payment to an alternative card as mentioned above.
Do you have a Corporate Account?
If you have a corporate account with Budget, our team will reach out to discuss these changes. If you have any concerns, please reach out to your Account Manager or Sales Support team.

Diners Club New Zealand Limited, have changed merchant acquiring partners. Their new acquiring partner will not be able to interface with our systems, which prevents us from processing Diners Club card transactions.

A. Yes. This change only affects rentals taking place in New Zealand.

A. No. No Diners card will be accepted in NZ and this is regardless of country of issue.
